Human Resources Director
Our organization has found incredible traction delivering best-in-class renewable energy solutions and now needs the experienced staffing leadership to guide and support our organization as we grow and expand. From a strategic standpoint and vision, your focus is to support and guide the Leadership teams. Day to day, you will collaborate directly with our leaders; discuss functional challenges and objectives with the teams, and bring the ability to both ‘zoom out to the strategy’ and ‘dig into the details’, bringing with you best practices across scaling organizations. Reporting to the CEO, our Human Resources Director will play a pivotal role in driving high impact initiatives but most importantly the top responsibility will be to ‘be the glue’ to help the senior leadership team drive strategic efforts.
This role requires a high level of organization and structure, dedication and great attention to detail, acute emotional intelligence skills and effective communication. Our Human Resources Director will have the experience that can provide a comprehensive range of Human Resources capability in support for scalability across the US for our global organization. Our Director of Human Resources needs to be a proven, seasoned professional with high integrity, strong interpersonal, and leadership skills. With responsibility and oversight of all aspects of the human resources function.
Responsibilities:
Leadership
- Strategic thought partner to the CEO on planning and thinking in the next
- Partner with functional leaders to develop and execute on their strategic plans
- Support each organizational leader in developing and evaluating new initiatives
- Develop our information with an accurate portrayal of the accomplishments, risks, and opportunities within the company
- Participate in leadership meetings by providing the current human resources perspective in helping influence operational decisions
- Advise the leadership team to guide policies and practices that support a culture of excellence
- Ensure that policies and practices are applied consistently across departments for all employees
- Ensure that employees are provided professional, courteous, and timely operational support and service
- Propose and implement initiatives to enhance and strengthen the HR function at the company
HR Administration
- Guide leadership and employees’ actions by ensuring ready access to current policies, procedures, practices and guidelines in the company’s employment handbook
- Research and recommend updates to the company’s employment practices and develop written policies once adopted
- Annually review, update and publish the employee handbook and ensure collection of employees’ acknowledgments of receipt
- Provide ongoing guidance, counsel and training to company leadership and supervisors with work performance issues, disciplinary procedures, policy interpretation and compliance
- Advise management in areas of workplace conflict resolution and progressive discipline; advise when disciplinary issues arise
- Make recommendations as needed for employees’ safety, welfare, wellness and health
- Provide oversight of the recruitment process to ensure consistency and alignment with best hiring practices
- Coordinate new employee orientation efforts in a way that allows new members of our community to understand our company’s culture
Employment Law and Compliance
- Ensure that employment practices comply with federal, state and local laws and that all employees are informed about statutory labor laws
- Oversee the facilitation of company-wide compliance and risk management training including, EEO, workplace harassment, boundary training, workplace safety and other areas, as needed
Compensation and Benefits
- Perform a comprehensive evaluation of compensation and benefits in support of making recommendations about salary grades and levels that ensure internal equity and market competitiveness
- Ensure that effective internal controls over employee records and benefit processing are maintained
Record Keeping and Reporting
- Maintain secure and confidential documentation for all personnel and employment related transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, terminations
- Ensure accurate tracking and reporting of sick leave, PTO, and Holiday time
- Maintain key statistical data on the workforce
Labor Relations
- Work closely with legal counsel, conduct timely and well-documented investigations, and ensure proper resolution

- Proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of CRM and other payroll applications preferred
- Satisfactory completion of pre-employment background check
- Ability to work in a high-paced environment; dealing with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines and with a varied and diverse population
Qualifications:
- 15+ years of progressively responsible experience human resources management
- License/Certification: PHR/SPHR or SHRM CP/SCP preferred
- BA/BS degree or graduate degree in human resources or a related field
